This is an excellent evergreen plant
It is a plant that really comes into itself during the winter months, strong glossy dark green leaves with striking red flower bracts that are held above the foliage all through the winter months(forms in October), opening to white fragrant flowers in the spring(late March). Excellent for winter displays in containers and pots. Plant in a shrub border or woodland garden.
Needs lime free soil(plant in ericaceous soil if you have lime in your soil).
Grows to 1 metre (3.25ft) and spreads 90cm(3ft).
Tolerates part to deep shade in moderately fertile, moist but well drained soil.
This variety is the male plant and will not produce berries.
