Prunus Pink Perfection | Japanese Flowering Cherry Tree
The Japanese flowering cherries are a distinctive group of varieties stretching as far back as 1000 years. They are held in high regard in their homeland and are known as Sato-sakura meaning "village cherries"
The double rose-pink flowers are one of the most exotic and long lasting of any of the Japanese flowering cherries persisting for several week from early May. A small vase shaped tree with oval leaves, bronze when young, turning orange-red colours in autumn.
This is a small tree which will reach up to 4m after 10 years. It is tolerant of clay and chalk soil. An occasional thinning out of some of the branches can be undertaken to encourage fresh replacement growth.
This tree is sold in a 12 litre container and is 150-200cm.
Prunus Pink Perfection, Japanese flowering cherry tree, has been awarded the Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit indicating that the cultivar has proved to be reliable in appropriate conditions and a good performer.
