Lavender Munstead Blue
Named after Gertrude Jeykll's garden at Munstead Wood this is one of the best English lavenders for edging path and borders, when brushed against the aromatic foliage perfumes the air.
Hardy mediterranean plants that like most silver leaved plants will suvive well in a hot dry border. They require good drainage. Lavenders are an excellent plant for wildlife. The calm scented blooms are are a magnet for bees and the birds will enjoy consuming the seed heads when the flowers finish.
Perfect for a sunny well drained site. After flowering cut back the flower stalks to maintain the plant's compact bushy shape.
Fresh flowers may be used in jams and desserts.
