Dicentra Formosa Luxuriant Bleeding Heart
A very hardy evergreen perennial ideal for a sunny or a shaded border
Cherry-pink flowers all summer. Blue-green foliage. Similar to D. eximia, but slightly more drought tolerant.
Native to northwest North America.
Blooms all summer. Prefers rich moist soil in a shaded location and is deer resistant. Divide in spring. Spacing: 15-18"
Dicentras are happy in any good garden soil that's fertile but not too heavy.
Enrich the soil with plenty of leaf mould before planting and apply a mulch in autumn too.
A light fertilising in March will help enormously.
