A striking red leaved form of the popular Corylus avellana ‘Contorta’ with similar corkscrew curled and twisted shoots, dark purple leaves.
A compact deciduous spreading semi weeping tree with purple catkins eventually turning purple-green in mid-late summer. Small tree size after 10 years growing to 4 metres. Flowering month - February, Chalk and clay tolerant. Shade tolerant. Plant in a sheltered position of any aspect except north. Hardy to H6
Plant is supplied in a 3 ltr pot.
Plant with a shrub compost and some bone meal to aid root development.
