Buxus Sempervirens Box Hedging Plants
Buxus Sempervirens Box
Bare Root Hedging Plants 20-30cm
Buxus has been used for hundreds of years to create topiary masterpieces and is a familiar sight in stately homes across the country. It is also popular for creating small formal hedges and has evergreen dense leaves. It is slow growing and tolerant of shady coastal areas and chalky soils. Will reach approx 180cm (6ft) in 10 years if unpruned.
The planting season is between November and late March while the plant is in dormant growth.
Dig a reasonable hole and plant with either some rose, tree and shrub compost or any organic matter (but not fresh manure, well rotted is fine) and plant with some bone meal or fish, blood and bone as this will encourage quick root growth. Plant 5 plants per metre for a single row or 7 plants per metre in a double staggered row. Do not water once planted (unless the ground is very dry), so the plant will find it's own water (make it work for it's water, creating strong root growth)
These plants are 20-30cm tall and bare root.
Free delivery is for all postcode areas in England and Wales with the exception of the Isle of Wight and the Isles of Scilly
