Aquilegia 'Green Apples' Granny's Bonnet 1 litre pot
A New Variety
Green is fashionable and likely to remain so and this splendid new clematis-flowered variety is highly probable to become much sought after. The lime-green buds open into a lovely many, many petalled Granny Smith apple-green coloured bloom that then matures to a relaxing cream. A plant to show off.
This plant is happiest in soil that retains moisture over the summer. It is quite short-lived, but self-seeds freely though it rarely becomes a nuisance.
Lift and divide large clumps in early spring and apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost around the plant. Divided specimens may take some time to establish since they don't like having their roots disturbed. Contact with the sap may cause skin irritation.
Position: full sun or partial shade
Soil: fertile, moist, well-drained soil
Rate of growth: average to fast-growing
Flowering period: May to June
Hardiness: fully hard
Grows to 60cm (2 ft).
This plant is in a 1 litre pot
