Apple James Grieve Half Standard | Trained Apple Tree
Apple Tree James Grieve Half Standard | Trained Apple Tree
Please Note : These trees are despatched from mid-August until early-June.
Half Standard trees are grown in the field for two years to the maiden stage followed by a third and final year as container grown. A clear stem of 1 metre is produced with a well shaped head above. This is a traditional tree for gardens as a classic lawn tree to allow easy mowing and/or companion planting beneath.
Our Half Standard fruit trees are approximately 6-7ft tall. They are topped at 1.2m which gives them a clear stem but most varieties will have 2-3ft of bushy growth on top of that.
James Grieve apple skins have red flush stripes over pale green. Crisp and juicy. Excellent flavour so either an eating or cooking apple, reliable cropper.
Picking time is early September.
The Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit indicates that the plant is recommended by the RHS.
Rootstock MM106 - Semi Vigorous.
