Aconitum Arendsii 'Monkshood' 2 litre pot perennial
Monkshood are tall, stately plants with densely filled spires of large hooded flowers, azure-blue in the variety 'Arendsii'. From a distance they are easily mistaken for delphiniums, except that they flower several months later and are perfectly timed to fill the seasonal slump after the main bulk of summer perennials are over.
Monkshood teams well with Japanese anemones to give the border a new lease of life well into autumn.
Plants thrive in most garden soils and enjoy the light shade at the back of well filled borders.
All parts of the plant are highly poisonous.
Sun exposure: Full sun, Partial shade
Soil: Well-drained/light, Clay/heavy, Moist
