Acanthus Spinosa 'Bear's Breeches' 2 litre perennial
A distinguished variant of bear's breeches, this has lustrous green leaves that make a solid mound of long toothy large leaves.
The white flowers with purple flushing are held on a vertical spike. It is sensible to remove this before it sets seed as the foliage mound will remain in better condition.
The plant is around 1m (3ft) in height with a 1.5m (5ft) spread.(3ft) purple-tinted spikes. It cuts a striking figure in the garden adding form and structure to planting schemes.
